A Castle Made of Sand (2025)

A Castle Made of Sand, made in collaboration with the residents of Petit Château, a 19th century army barracks in central Brussels that has long served as a centre for those seeking asylum. Selfies are interspersed with images of daily life, alongside trips into the surrounding countryside. The images bear witness to the process of waiting, sustained by the hope of building a new life.

We want zebras,
not goats (2022)

On veut des zèbres pas des chèvres (We want zebras, not goats), a living archaeology of Belgian football team, Charleroi. Beeckman draws together archival images, interviews and newly created photographs, to reveal the world of fans, players, coaches and stadium vendors.
