Ken Grant will discuss his work, both published and otherwise and offer some thoughts on narrative, storytelling and the book.


Ken Grant was born in Liverpool in 1967. Since the 1980’s he has photographed his contemporaries in the city and engaged in sustained projects both in the UK and wider Europe. A monograph of the Liverpool pictures, The Close Season, was published by Dewi Lewis Publishing in 2002. He continues to work on long-term projects. In 2014, a second monograph of photographs made in Liverpool was published as No pain whatsoever by Journal in Sweden and the book Flock was released as the result of a long term residency in Hereford UK. Ken Grant’s photographs are held in important collections of photography, including those of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Folkwang Museum Essen, the Archive of Modern Conflict and other international public and private collections. In the UK he is represented by James Hyman Gallery. He currently teaches photography at the University of Ulster in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
